Press onto Sublimation specific products (substrates) only.
Fabrics - Only use Polyester for transferring. The higher the cotton content, the lower the image quality.
Press with firm pressure, between 195 to 215 degrees Celsius (depending on the substrate) for between 45 to 180 seconds (depending on the substrate)
Colours may vary between screens and will appear dull prior to pressing. This is normal. The colour will be more vivid and pronounced after pressing.
Sublimation Ink is a specialised product used for printing images onto garments or sublimation treated products (i.e. mugs). Once an image is printed onto 'sublimation paper' the image is transferred using a heat press. The application of heat and pressure causes the dyes in the image to convert to a gas. The heat applied to the object being printed causes the 'pores' of the object to open. Rapid removal of the heat causes these 'pores' to close and the gas (now trapped in the 'pores') converts back to a solid, leaving the coloured image.
The printed output will appear dull compared to printing using 'normal' printing inks, this is normal with sublimation prints.
Sublimation printing is only suitable for garments and fabrics that include polyester (100% polyester or polyester blend is best). Although sublimation is possible on other materials such as cotton, the image will not be permanent as it is on ‘man made’ fabric and it isn’t recommended.
